Christmas 2010

Natalie's Blessing

After having some wonderful helpers travel out for Natalie's birth, we were blessed this Thanksgiving to have quite a bit of family come out to share it with us. We thought it was the best time for Natalie's baby blessing.

Our pilgrim maiden (She loved learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans at school)

Such a cute turkey...just makes you want to gobble her up!

Princess Photo Shoot

Grandma Brown made some cute veils for the girls while she visited us. So, of course, they were all too excited to dress up and pose for the camera.

Little Natalie was too little for that photo shoot...but I thought it fitting to share one of my favorite shots of her.
(4 months)

Just hangin' out, havin' fun!

Just a random sampler of everyday life at our house...

"What?!!"
I'm lovin' her pose!
It took a lot of work, but we finally got a smile on camera!

Cute little Natalie

I don't know if it's easy to tell from these pictures, but our little peanut has changed a lot in the past few weeks. One thing that hasn't changed? Her mellow, easy-going nature.

Natalie's latest update: She is now smiling and cooing and staying awake for longer periods of time. She loves having people sit with her and talk to her, including her two doting sisters. She has a definite binky style preference, and has recently developed a great love of her swing. Truly. Mostly she is a delight to hold and snuggle and I second the girls in their constant pronouncement, "She's so cute!"

Kindergarten

Vanessa had her first day of official school at the beginning of this month. Turning 5 was a big deal because it meant she got to go to Kindergarten. So all summer we had been waiting for this day!

Here she is in her first day outfit (that she got to pick out):

Since her Grandma Brown was here, she even got her favorite hairdo (a braid):

Vanessa's new class, and her new teacher, Mrs. Marcum. We were lucky to get to have Vanessa in the one half-day kindergarten in the area (most are full-day), which also was her school from last year. We love St. Lukes!
Vanessa had an awesome first day and was not really shy or nervous (like she was afraid she'd be). There's 14 kids in her "lion" class, including her, and the majority are boys. She also has two friends in her class she knew before school. She loves showing us what she did each day, and now has a new interest in recognizing and learning to read words. She's so happy!

Here's to an exciting new school year!
